Clay mask recipes
A clay mask should be applied at least once a week and two to
three times a week for oilier skin types.
Green clay
Best for oily skin as it is the most absorbent clay and is great
for large pores
Red clay
Best for normal skin and good for broken capillaries and puffy
eyes. Also makes a great body mud pack for improving muscle tone.
Pink clay
Best for dry and sensitive skins as it is very mild. Makes a great
firming mask for the bust, thighs, stomach and upper arms. Very
moisturising.
To apply a clay mask,
first start with clean, exfoliated skin. In your hand or a small
dish, mix 2 tsp. clay with 2 tsp distilled water or floral water
until a paste is formed. If desired, add 1-2 drops of an essential
oil synergy and/or 3-5 drops of healing oil (for normal to dry
skin). Apply to skin, being careful to avoid the eye area. Wait
until clay dries completely, then remove the mask with a warm
cloth, using gentle upward strokes. After a clay mask, a facial
massage with an aromatic skin oil can be wonderful and add to
the healing benefits of the mask.

motions. Wipe clean with a cotton ball or soft cloth. Rinse the
cloth and repeat until all the cleanser has been removed. Pat
